Aim of the service
- To provide free, impartial information and advice on learning and work to all who access the service.
What you can expect from us
- Up-to-date information on learning and work.
- Access to internet based resources on work.
- Help to find the information you need, if we are unable to help you, we will refer you to a local organisation or the learndirect careers advice line.
- An assessment of your literacy, numeracy and IT needs.
- Careers guidance.
Our commitment to you
- We will respond to your request for information within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holiday periods).
- From your initial request an appointment for advice will be made available within 5 working days.
- The staff members delivering the service have the skills and knowledge to identify your needs and advise you on what to do next.
- The service you receive will be confidential. Personal information will not be passed on to any person or other organisations without your permission.
- The service you receive will be based on your individual needs. You will be treated fairly and given equal access to the services on offer.
- We will try to offer you information in the best possible format to suit your needs.
What we are not able to do
- Make a decision for you; we can only offer information and advice to help you make an informed choice.

Learning
- We provide on-line learning through learndirect. If you go on to learn with us we will design an individual learning route for you to follow.
- We can help you work towards and achieve qualifications in literacy, numeracy, IT and a range of NVQs.
